Henry, Andrea and their children have lived at Great Heale since 1999. Henry has experience living all over the world, but Devon is where his heart is. Calling Great Heale his ‘jewel’ in the Devon countryside, he has always wanted others to enjoy the wonders of this landscape and so Troney Valley Escapes was born.
PEACEFUL COUNTRY LIFE
During different times of the year, you will experience the delights of neighbouring farm animals, cows and sheep, geese and chickens. Let alone the abundance of natural wildlife of Devon. You can buy free-range eggs in our shop on site at Troney Valley Escapes, that come fresh from local farms, along with other fresh local produce.
GREEN GLAMPING
Henry is a keen smallholder and environmentalist – the entire site has been constructed with the local environment and climate change in mind with water supplied from a natural source. Last year Henry introduced honey bee hives and set land aside for a Devon wildflower meadow, located in the adjoining paddock. The water provided to the Luxury Safari Tents comes from the well in the orchard and solar panels have been installed in the quest to reduce our ever escalating carbon footprint. All logs for the burners resourced locally. All apples grown in the orchards collected by hand and supplied to Sandford Orchards for local cider and apple juice.
